Biography
Steve Pepoon was an American television writer. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on 19 May 1956, he grew up in Paola, Kansas, and graduated from Kansas State University. He moved to Los Angeles in 1979 and sold his first script to Silver Spoons in 1986.
Pepoon wrote for ALF (1987–1990), It's Garry Shandling's Show, Get a Life, Roseanne and other series. He wrote the The Simpsons episode 'Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment' (1991), which won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. He was co-creator of The Wild Thornberrys.
Pepoon died in Paola, Kansas, on 3 May 2025, aged 68.
