Biography

Steve Singleton is a British film and television editor. Born in May 1952 in Uxbridge, Middlesex, he began his career at the UK’s ATV, where he worked for ten years as a film editor on programmes ranging from sitcoms and documentaries to costume dramas.

He went on to edit feature films and television dramas, including early credits such as Made in Britain (1983) and Rita, Sue and Bob Too (1987). Singleton edited episodes of Downton Abbey (2010) and all three series of The Fall (2013–2016), for which he received a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Editing – Fiction in 2014. He has maintained a long collaboration with writer Jed Mercurio, editing Line of Duty and Bodyguard (2018), the latter earning him an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award.
