Biography
Steve Sweeney was a British actor whose screen credits include the role of Danny in Gary Oldman’s Nil by Mouth (1997). He appeared as Plank in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and had earlier parts in Made in Britain (1983), The Firm (1989), I.D. (1995) and Face (1997).
Sweeney worked extensively in theatre and on television, with appearances in series such as The Bill, Dalziel and Pascoe and Murphy’s Law. He was noted by Kathy Burke as a favourite of director Alan Clarke. He also worked as a casting director and producer.
Sweeney died on 19 June 2024.
