Biography
Stewart Meachem is a British costume designer. He has worked in film and television since the 1980s, with early credits including wardrobe master on Paperhouse (1988) and 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992).
Meachem's film credits as costume designer include Bent (1997), RKO 281 (1999), Billy Elliot (2000), Octane (2003) and Dough (2015). He has also designed costumes for television series such as Doc Martin (2019–2022).
For Billy Elliot, he researched documentary footage and photographs to achieve an authentic 1980s look for the mining community and ballet sequences.
