Biography
Susan Shipton is a Canadian film editor. Born in Toronto in 1958, she graduated with a degree in film studies from Queen's University in 1982. She began her career as an assistant editor, working on David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986).
Shipton edited her first feature, Atom Egoyan's The Adjuster, in 1991 and has since collaborated with the director on eight projects. Her credits include Exotica (1994), The Sweet Hereafter (1997), Where the Truth Lies (2005), Chloe (2009), Barney's Version (2010) and The Captive (2014). She has also edited films such as Mr. Nobody (2009) and worked in television.
Shipton won Genie Awards for Best Achievement in Editing for The Sweet Hereafter (1997) and Possible Worlds (2001). She directed the short film Hindsight and is a member of the Canadian Cinema Editors.
