Biography

Sylvie Pialat is a French producer and screenwriter. Born Sylvie Françoise Danton on 9 June 1960 in Paris, she began her career in film working with director Maurice Pialat, whom she later married; she co-wrote the screenplays for three of his films under the name Sylvie Danton.

She founded the production company Les Films du Worso and has produced numerous features since the mid-2000s. Her credits include Stranger by the Lake (2013), Timbuktu (2014), Les Misérables (2019) and Robot Dreams (2023). Pialat has received the Daniel Toscan du Plantier award twice and a César for best film as producer of Timbuktu.
