Biography
Takayo Fischer is an American actress who works in film, television, stage and voice-over. Born Takayo Doris Tsubouchi on 25 November 1932 in Hardwick, California, she is also credited as Takayo Tsubouchi and 平内孝代.
She played Mrs. Chu in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness and Mimi Yamamoto in the 2020 Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club. Other screen credits include Mistress Ching in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), Suzanne in Moneyball (2011), and voice roles such as Lo and Li in Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005).
Fischer appeared in the 1958 New York stage production of The World of Suzie Wong and won a Drama-Logue Award for ensemble performance in Tea at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. She has been married to entertainment executive Sy Fischer since 1980.
