Biography
Takayuki Hattori is a Japanese composer, arranger and conductor. He studied composition and orchestration at the Conservatoire de Paris, graduating in 1988, and has since worked primarily in Japan across film, television, anime, video games and popular music.
He is best known for his scores for the Godzilla films Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994) and Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999), as well as the later anime trilogy Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017), Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle (2018) and Godzilla: The Planet Eater (2018). Other notable credits include the Slayers anime films and series, Death Note (2015), several Doraemon feature films and the television series Hanzawa Naoki (2013).
Hattori has won three Japan Academy Prize awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music. He is the son of composer Katsuhisa Hattori and grandson of composer Ryōichi Hattori.
