Biography
Tannishtha Chatterjee is an Indian actress and director. She was born on 23 November 1980 in Pune, Maharashtra, and trained at the National School of Drama in New Delhi.
She is known for her roles in independent films including Brick Lane (2007) as Nazneen Ahmed, for which she received a nomination for Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards; Parched (2015) as Rani; Angry Indian Goddesses (2015) as Nargis Nasreen; and Lion (2016) as Noor. Other credits include Shadows of Time, Road, Movie and Doctor Rakhmabai. She won the National Film Award – Special Jury Award for Dekh Indian Circus and has directed films such as Roam Rome Mein (2019).
