Biography
Tetsuaki Watanabe is a Japanese animation director. He joined Production I.G in 2009 as a production manager and later worked as an episode director and storyboard artist on several series before becoming freelance around 2020.
He served as an episode director on Haikyu!! (2014) and directed BLUE LOCK (2022). Other credits include episode direction on Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (2016) and direction on Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 (2025). He was mentored by directors Goro Taniguchi and Susumu Mitsunaka.
