Biography
Thomas Loibl is a German actor. Born in 1969 in Brüggen, he trained at the Westfälische Schauspielschule in Bochum.
He began his career in theatre, with engagements at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (1994–1996), Volkstheater Munich (1996–1998), Schauspielhaus Zurich, Stuttgart Staatstheater (1998–2000) and Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich (2001–2009). He has since worked as a freelance actor in theatre, film and television.
Loibl is known for his film roles as Gerald in Toni Erdmann (2016) and Mandorff in Conclave (2024), as well as appearances in 3096 Days (2013), Measuring the World (2012) and series including Charité (2017) and The Conference (2022). He has also worked in voice dubbing.
