Biography
Sir Thomas Malory was an English knight and writer, best known as the author of Le Morte d'Arthur, the major English compilation of Arthurian legends. He completed the work while imprisoned, and it was first printed by William Caxton in 1485.
Malory is credited, uncredited, as a writer on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which draws on the Arthurian tradition he helped shape. His book has also served as source material for other films, including Knights of the Round Table (1953) and Excalibur (1981).
