Biography
Thomas Perry was an American television writer, producer and novelist. He contributed stories and teleplays to series including Simon & Simon, 21 Jump Street and Star Trek: The Next Generation, often collaborating with his wife Jo Perry.
Perry was born in Tonawanda, New York, and studied at Cornell University and the University of Rochester. Before and alongside his television work he held various jobs including labourer, fisherman and university administrator. He later became a full-time novelist, publishing more than thirty thrillers. His debut The Butcher's Boy (1982) won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel from the Mystery Writers of America. He died in Los Angeles in 2025.
