Biography
Timothy Brown, also credited as Thomas Allen Brown, Timmy Brown and Tim Brown, was an American actor, singer and former professional American football player. Born Thomas Allen Brown on 24 May 1937 in Richmond, Indiana, he played in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Colts before turning to acting.
He appeared as Cpl. Judson in the 1970 film MASH and as Capt. Oliver Harmon “Spearchucker” Jones in the subsequent television series. Brown played the role of Tommy Brown, a Grand Ole Opry singer, in Robert Altman’s Nashville (1975), and featured in other films including Frequency* (2000) as Roof Man Billy. He died on 4 April 2020 in Palm Springs, California, aged 82.
