Biography
Tiny Ron, also credited as Tiny Ron Taylor, was an American actor and former professional basketball player. Born Ronald Taylor on 21 November 1947 in Torrance, California, he graduated from the University of Southern California and played in the American Basketball Association before pursuing acting. He adopted the name Tiny Ron upon joining the Screen Actors Guild, as another Ron Taylor was already registered.
He is known for his roles as Al, the tall police detective whose face is never shown, in the television series Police Squad! (1982) and the film The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988). Other credits include Road House (1989), The Rocketeer (1991) as Lothar, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) as Roc, and recurring parts as Maihar'du in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Alpha-Hirogen Idrin in Star Trek: Voyager. His height of 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) was frequently used in casting. He died on 28 November 2019 in Santa Clarita, California.
