Biography

Todd Karns (born Roscoe Todd Karns) was an American actor. He was the son of character actor Roscoe Karns. Karns began his film career in 1941 with roles in two Andy Hardy films.

His best-known part was as Harry Bailey, the younger brother of James Stewart's character, in Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life (1946). He appeared in other films including Good Sam (1948) and The Caine Mutiny (1954), often in supporting or uncredited roles, and worked in television, including alongside his father in Rocky King, Detective (1950–1954).

Karns served in the US Army Air Corps during the Second World War. In 1971 he moved to Ajijic, Mexico, where he produced and directed plays at the Lakeside Little Theater until his death.
