Biography
Tom Kane was an American voice actor. Born Thomas Kane Roberts on 15 April 1962 in Overland Park, Kansas, he began professional voice work at the age of 15 in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1984.
He provided voices for numerous animated series, films and video games. Kane was best known for his work in the Star Wars franchise, voicing Yoda, Admiral Yularen and the series narrator in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and the subsequent television series, as well as additional voices and Admiral Ackbar in later films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017). Other notable roles included Professor Utonium in The Powerpuff Girls and characters in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and The Wild Thornberrys.
Kane also narrated Academy Awards broadcasts and served as the voice of the Walt Disney World monorail system. He died on 18 May 2026 in Kansas City, Missouri, aged 64.
