Biography
Tom Leopold is an American comedy writer, producer and novelist. Born in 1949 in Miami, Florida, he was educated at New York University. He began his career writing for National Lampoon and sketch comedy programmes before moving into television sitcoms.
Leopold wrote episodes of Seinfeld (including "The Cafe" and "The Suicide", 1991–1992) and Cheers (1992–1993). He has also written for Ellen, Caroline in the City, Will & Grace and Dream On, and served as a producer or story editor on several of these series. He has taught a masterclass in sitcom writing at Columbia University and is the author of three novels.
