Biography

Tony Osoba is a Scottish actor. Born in Glasgow in 1947, he trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. His breakthrough role was as Jim 'Jock' McLaren in the BBC sitcom Porridge (1974–1977).

Osoba has appeared in numerous television series including Dempsey and Makepeace (1985–1986) as Det. Sgt. Chas Jarvis, two roles in Coronation Street (1982 and 1990), and episodes of Doctor Who across multiple series. He has also worked in theatre, including productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and in films such as the 1979 adaptation of Porridge.
