Biography
Tony Walton was a British production designer, set designer and costume designer. Born in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, he began working in theatre in the 1950s before moving into film. His film credits include production design on Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Wiz (1978) and All That Jazz (1979).
Walton won an Academy Award for art direction on All That Jazz. He received further Oscar nominations for his work on Mary Poppins (1964), Murder on the Orient Express and The Wiz. He also designed for numerous Broadway productions, winning three Tony Awards, and received an Emmy for the 1985 television adaptation of Death of a Salesman.
