Biography
Tracy Brabin is a British actress and television writer. She trained in drama at Loughborough University, graduating in 1982, and later gained an MA in screenwriting from the London College of Communication.
Her acting credits include the role of Tricia Armstrong in Coronation Street (1994–1997), appearances in Midsomer Murders (as Ruth Chalk), Emmerdale, EastEnders and A Bit of a Do, as well as the film Riff-Raff (1991). As a writer she contributed to Shameless (2009), Hollyoaks (2006–2010), The Story of Tracy Beaker, Heartbeat, Family Affairs and Doctors.
Brabin was elected Member of Parliament for Batley and Spen in 2016 and became Mayor of West Yorkshire in 2021.
