Biography
Tracy Tormé was an American screenwriter and television producer. Born in Los Angeles in 1959, he was the son of singer Mel Tormé. He studied film at the University of Southern California and began his career in the late 1970s as a writer on the comedy series SCTV, later contributing to Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1983.
He worked on the first two seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) as a writer and executive story editor, contributing episodes including 'The Big Goodbye' and 'Haven', and served as creative consultant on the second season. He wrote under the pseudonym Keith Mills for the episode 'The Royale'. Tormé co-created the series Sliders (1995) and wrote episodes for Carnivàle (2003). His film work includes the screenplay for Fire in the Sky (1993). He died in Escondido, California, in January 2024.
