Biography
Trevor Eve is an English actor. Born on 1 July 1951 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, he studied architecture at Kingston Polytechnic before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he received the Bancroft Gold Medal.
He first gained prominence playing the title role in the BBC detective series Shoestring (1979–1980). Eve is also known for his long-running performance as Detective Superintendent Peter Boyd in the BBC drama Waking the Dead (2000–2011). His stage work includes Olivier Award-winning roles in Children of a Lesser God (1982) and Uncle Vanya (1997).
Eve has appeared in films including Dracula (1979) and Troy (2004), and in series such as Unforgotten (2015) as Sir Phillip Cross, A Discovery of Witches (2018–2022) and Death Comes to Pemberley (2013).
