Biography
Ty Burrell is an American actor. He was born on 22 August 1967 in Grants Pass, Oregon, and trained at Southern Oregon University, where he earned a BA in theatre arts, and Pennsylvania State University, where he received an MFA.
Burrell is best known for playing Phil Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020). For the role he won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and five Screen Actors Guild Awards. His other credits include film roles in Black Hawk Down (2001), Dawn of the Dead (2004), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) and The Incredible Hulk (2008), and voice work in Finding Dory (2016) and Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014).
