Biography

Udo Kramer is a German production designer. He studied fine art at the art academies in Münster and Düsseldorf before completing a degree in scenography at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg in 2005.

Kramer has worked on numerous German and international features and series. Early credits include set design on V for Vendetta (2006) and production design on films such as North Face (2008), The Physician (2013), The Voices (2014) and Point Break (2015). He served as production designer on all three seasons of the Netflix series Dark (2017–2020) and on 1899 (2022).

For Netflix he designed the sets for season six of Black Mirror (2023), receiving a BAFTA Television Craft Award nomination for the episode "Demon 79". He has received several nominations for the German Film Award and won awards including the Grimme-Preis for his work on Dark.
