Biography
Ulrike Kofler is an Austrian film editor, director and screenwriter. She trained as a photographer at the Höhere Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna, graduating in 1997, and then studied editing at the Filmakademie Wien until 2002.
Her diploma film there was Un peu beaucoup, directed by Marie Kreutzer, with whom she has maintained a long collaboration. She later studied at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln from 2005 to 2012, where her diploma film Wir fliegen (2013), which she directed and wrote, received several awards.
As an editor, her credits include Wild Mouse (2017), Corsage (2022) and Gentle Monster (2026). She made her feature directorial debut with What We Wanted (2020), which she also wrote; it was Austria’s submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
