Biography
Vadim Ivanovich Yusov was a Soviet and Russian cinematographer. He studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) and worked at Mosfilm studios.
He collaborated with Andrei Tarkovsky on The Steamroller and the Violin (1961), Ivan's Childhood (1962), Andrei Rublev (1966) and Solaris (1972). He also worked with Georgiy Daneliya on Walking the Streets of Moscow (1964), Don't Grieve (1969), Hopelessly Lost (1973) and Passport (1990), and with Sergei Bondarchuk on They Fought for Their Country (1975).
Yusov received several Nika Awards and the Golden Osella for The Black Monk (1988) at the Venice International Film Festival. He served on the jury at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival and the 1995 Berlin International Film Festival, and taught at VGIK.
