Biography
Mykola Hrynko, also credited as Nikolai Grinko or Mykola Hryhorovych Hrynko, was a Soviet Ukrainian actor. He was born on 22 May 1920 in Kherson and died on 10 April 1989 in Kyiv.
He began his career in theatre before moving to cinema in the early 1960s. Hrynko appeared in numerous Soviet films and is particularly associated with the work of Andrei Tarkovsky, playing roles in Ivan's Childhood (1962), Andrei Rublev (1966), Solaris (1972), Mirror (1975) and Stalker (1979). He also appeared in Sergei Parajanov's Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965), as well as War and Peace (1968), Afonya (1975), The Adventures of Buratino (1976) and The Adventures of the Electronic (1980).
