Biography

Valdís Óskarsdóttir is an Icelandic film editor and director. Born in Akureyri on 6 May 1949, she has worked primarily as an editor since the early 1990s.

Her editing credits include The Celebration (1998), Finding Forrester (2000), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) and Kursk (2018). She won the Danish Film Academy's Robert Award for Best Editing for The Celebration and another film, and received a BAFTA Award for Best Editing for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Óskarsdóttir made her directorial debut with Sveitabrúðkaup (Country Wedding) in 2008.
