Biography
Vanessa McCarthy is an American television writer and producer. She began her career in the late 1990s with entry-level roles and received her first writing credits on the sitcom Friends, contributing a story and a teleplay in 2001 and 2002.
Her subsequent writing credits include episodes of Abby, Joey, Rules of Engagement, Hot in Cleveland, Modern Family, The Goldbergs, American Housewife, One Big Happy, Schooled and Big Shot. She has also held producing positions on several of these series, including as co-executive producer on Modern Family and executive producer on Rules of Engagement.
In 2004 McCarthy shared the Writers Guild of America Robert Meltzer Award for her work on the writing team of the animated series Father of the Pride.
