Biography
Veda Ann Borg was an American film and television actress. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she began her career as a model in 1936 and signed a contract with Paramount Pictures. A car accident in 1939 required reconstructive facial surgery.
She appeared in more than one hundred films, including Mildred Pierce (1945) as Miriam Ellis, The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947), Guys and Dolls (1955), and The Alamo (1960) as Blind Nell Robertson. Borg also worked in television from the early 1950s, with roles in series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Bonanza, and Adventures of Superman.
Borg was married to Paul Herrick in 1942 and to director Andrew V. McLaglen from 1946 to 1958. She died of cancer in Hollywood in 1973.
