Biography
Vincent Tilsley was a British television writer, script editor and producer. He wrote more than one hundred scripts over twenty years, including episodes of The Prisoner (1967), Z Cars, Doctor Finlay's Casebook and The Forsyte Saga. He co-created the series The Guardians (1971) with Rex Firkin and wrote the television film The Death of Adolf Hitler (1973).
Tilsley served as a story editor for the BBC, notably on the Sunday Play series, and received Writers Guild of Great Britain team awards for his work on Doctor Finlay's Casebook and The Forsyte Saga. He was later awarded the Guild's Presidents Award for outstanding services to the organisation and the craft of writing. He also wrote the book Holy Night.
He was born in Stockport and died on 29 September 2013.
