Biography
Vittorio Cecchi Gori is an Italian film producer and former politician. Born in Florence on 27 April 1942, he is the son of producer Mario Cecchi Gori.
He has produced numerous films, including Il Postino: The Postman (1994), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, and Life Is Beautiful (1997). He served as a senator representing the Italian People's Party from 1994 to 2001. He owned A.C. Fiorentina from 1993 to 2002 and the television channel La7.
He has faced multiple legal proceedings related to bankruptcy, including convictions and arrests in 2008 and 2011; in February 2020 a sentence of imprisonment was confirmed in one case.
