Biography
Walter Mosley is an American novelist and screenwriter. He was born on 12 January 1952 in Los Angeles, California.
Mosley is best known for his Easy Rawlins series of historical crime novels, beginning with Devil in a Blue Dress (1990). His other notable works include the teleplays for Snowfall (2017) and the novel and screenplay for The Man in My Basement (2025). He wrote an episode of the series The Lowdown (2025) and provided the story for an episode of Fallen Angels (1993).
In 2020 Mosley received the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters.
