Biography

Wanja Mues is a German actor. He was born on 27 December 1973 in Hamburg and is the son of actor Dietmar Mues and brother of actors Woody Mues and Jona Mues.

After leaving school he trained at the Actors’ Studio MFA Program at the New School for Social Research and the Robert Lewis Theatre Workshop in New York. He first appeared on screen as a teenager in the 1986 ZDF miniseries Jokehnen and gained wider recognition with a role in the 2002 ARD series Absolut das Leben.

Mues is known for his film roles as the SS Slapping Father in The Pianist (2002), the Night Clerk in The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and Sprenger in Yella (2007). He has appeared regularly in German television series including Stubbe – Von Fall zu Fall, Stralsund, Ein Fall für zwei and Stolberg, and works as a narrator for audiobooks and radio plays.
