Biography
Will Stanton (born William Sidney Stanton) was an English-born American character actor. He began his screen career in the late 1920s with short films for Hal Roach Studios and made his feature debut in the 1928 silent film Sadie Thompson.
He appeared in approximately 70 films, mostly in supporting or uncredited roles. Among his credits are Cavalcade (1933) as Tommy Jolly, Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) as Portsmouth Joe, Sergeant York (1941) as a Cockney soldier, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) as a porter, and Adam's Rib (1949) as a taxicab driver. His final screen work was a 1954 television episode of Schlitz Playhouse.
Stanton died in Los Angeles on 18 December 1969 and was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. He was married to Rosalind May.
