Biography
William Marlowe (25 July 1930 – 31 January 2003) was a British actor and writer. He served in the Fleet Air Arm and initially hoped for a writing career before training as an actor at RADA.
His acting credits include recurring roles as DCI Bill Russell in The Gentle Touch (1980–84) and appearances in Doctor Who as Harry Mailer in The Mind of Evil (1971) and Lester in Revenge of the Cybermen (1975). Other notable parts were in The Avengers, The Saint, The Persuaders! and films such as Cry Freedom (1987) and Revolution (1985).
Writing under the pseudonym Neil Rudyard, he contributed episodes to The Gentle Touch, Big Deal and Dempsey and Makepeace (1985). He was married to actresses Linda Marlowe, Catherine Schell and Kismet Delgado.
