Biography
William Tubbs was an American stage and film actor. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he worked as an insurance man in Hollywood before entering acting. His film career began in the mid-1940s and was largely spent in Europe after the Second World War.
He appeared in several films directed by Roberto Rossellini, including Paisan (1946) as Captain Bill Martin and Europe '51 (1952) as Professor Alessandrini. Other notable credits include Quo Vadis (1951) as Anaxander, The Golden Coach (1952) as Aubergiste, and his final role as Bill O'Brien in The Wages of Fear (1953).
