Biography
Yoram Globus is an Israeli film producer, cinema owner and distributor. He is best known for his long association with The Cannon Group, which he co-owned and ran with his cousin Menahem Golan. The pair, nicknamed the 'Go-Go Boys', produced and distributed hundreds of films, many of them low-budget action pictures, after acquiring Cannon in 1978.
Globus began his career in Israel, where his family owned cinemas and he partnered with Golan in the 1960s to build a domestic film and distribution business. Their Cannon output included Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987), Bloodsport (1988), Cobra (1986), Over the Top (1987), Masters of the Universe (1987), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (1986), Cyborg (1989), Lifeforce (1985), Runaway Train (1985) and Missing in Action (1984). After Cannon's sale, Globus returned to Israel in the early 1990s and developed production, distribution and exhibition interests there.
