Biography
Yuichi Terao (also credited as Yûichi Terao or Yuuichi Terao) is a Japanese cinematographer and director of photography, chiefly associated with ufotable. He has served as director of photography on the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba television series (2019 onwards) and its theatrical films, including Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train (2020) and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle (2025).
Terao is also known for his cinematography on ufotable's Fate adaptations, such as Fate/Zero (2011), Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] (2014) and the Heaven's Feel film trilogy (2017–2020). He has undertaken additional roles including storyboard artist, key animator and compositing supervisor on several projects.
He graduated from Osaka University of Arts and joined ufotable in 2003. Terao received the Fukiya Koji Award for his work on Mugen Train.
