Biography

Yūsaku Yara is a Japanese voice actor, actor and narrator born on 15 March 1948 in Tokyo. His real name is Susumu Kawabe and he previously worked under the stage name Tetsu Kurobe. He has been active since 1975 and is affiliated with Aoni Production.

He is known for voice roles including Ishida in the film Tokyo Godfathers (2003), Genpachi in Ninja Scroll (1993), Sagittarius Aiolos in the Saint Seiya series, Rod Reiss in Attack on Titan (2013) and Tecchin Tecchikawahara in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019). He has also dubbed foreign films, notably early roles for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
