Biography
Yves Cape is a Belgian cinematographer. He was born on 1 November 1960 in Belgium and studied at the INSAS film school in Brussels.
He began as a camera assistant before working as director of photography on short films in the 1990s. His first feature credit was Ma vie en rose (1997). Cape has collaborated with directors including Bruno Dumont on L'Humanité (1999) and Flandres (2006), Claire Denis on White Material (2009), and Leos Carax on Holy Motors (2012). He is a member of the Association Française des directeurs de la photographie Cinématographique and the Belgian Society of Cinematographers.
Later credits include New Order (2020), Sundown (2021) and Memory (2023).
