Biography
Zach McGowan is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Captain Charles Vane in the television series Black Sails (2014–2016), Jody Silverman in Shameless (2012–2013), Roan in The 100 (2014–2016), Anton Ivanov in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2017–2018), and Dogknott in The Boys (2019–) and Gen V (2023–).
McGowan was raised in New York and performed in off-Broadway productions from 2003. He moved to Los Angeles in 2005. His film credits include Terminator Salvation (2009) as Soldier on Osprey, Dracula Untold (2014) as Shkelgim, The Scorpion King: Book of Souls (2018) and Robert the Bruce (2019). He has also worked in voice-over for video games and advertisements.
McGowan married Emily Johnson in 2008.
