Biography
Adel Bencherif is a French actor born on 30 May 1975 in Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne. He trained as an actor in Paris at the atelier of Damien Acoca after moving there at the age of twenty.
His early career included small roles in television and film, beginning with a short film for the Kourtrajmé collective. He gained wider recognition for his performance as Ryad in Jacques Audiard's A Prophet (2009), for which he received a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor.
Bencherif has appeared in films including Frontier(s) (2007), Of Gods and Men (2010), Spectre (2015) and London Has Fallen (2016), as well as television series such as War of the Worlds (2019–2022) and Validé (2020–2021).
