Biography
Al Mancini was an American stage, film and television actor and writer. Born Alfred Benito Mancini on 13 November 1932 in Steubenville, Ohio, he graduated from London High School in 1950 and Kent State University in 1954. He began his career in New York before moving to London in the early 1960s, where he performed with the improvisational group The Premise and wrote for and appeared in the BBC satire series That Was the Week That Was.
His film roles include Tassos Bravos in The Dirty Dozen (1967), Tic-Tac in Miller's Crossing (1990), Jim in Falling Down (1993) and the voice of Fish in Babe: Pig in the City (1998). On television he appeared as the Announcer in The Prisoner (1967) and as Grandpa God in Joan of Arcadia (2005). He also taught acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse for over thirty years. Mancini died on 12 November 2007 in London, Ohio.
