Biography
Alan Edward Bell is an American film editor. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he began his career as an assistant and associate editor, working under mentor Robert Leighton on several Rob Reiner films including Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992). He advanced to lead editor on Reiner projects such as The Story of Us (1999) and Alex & Emma (2003).
Bell has edited numerous feature films, including Little Manhattan (2005), (500) Days of Summer (2009), Water for Elephants (2011), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015), The Dark Tower (2017), Red Sparrow (2018) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022). He is a member of American Cinema Editors (ACE) and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
