Biography

Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, producer and director. She was born Elizabeth Mitchell on 10 February 1974 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and trained at the University of Pennsylvania and the American Conservatory Theater.

She is known for playing Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games film series (2012–2015) and for roles in the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). Banks made her feature directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and has since directed Charlie's Angels (2019) and Cocaine Bear (2023). She produced Cocaine Bear and Bottoms (2023) through her company Brownstone Productions, founded in 2002 with her husband Max Handelman.
