Biography
Alastair McIntyre (2 April 1927 – 1 May 1986) was a British film editor and sound editor. He began his career in the 1950s as a sound editor and assistant editor on British productions including The Cruel Sea (1953) and Room at the Top (1959), before moving to picture editing in the early 1960s.
McIntyre is best known for his collaboration with director Roman Polanski, editing six films between 1965 and 1979: Repulsion (1965), Cul-de-sac (1966), The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967), Macbeth (1971), What? (1972) and Tess (1979). He worked on more than 40 productions in total during a career spanning three decades.
