Biography
Alex Beckett (30 June 1982 – 10 April 2018) was a Welsh actor. Born in Carmarthenshire, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating in 2003.
He was best known for playing Barney Lumsden in the BBC comedy series Twenty Twelve (2011–2012) and its spin-off W1A (2014–2017). His film roles included the Bearded Screenwriter in Youth (2015) and Sir Walter Mildmay in Mary Queen of Scots (2018). Beckett appeared in numerous television series, such as The End of the F*ing World (2017) and Stath Lets Flats (2018), and had an extensive theatre career that included productions at the National Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse.
