Biography
Alex Karpovsky is an American actor, director, screenwriter, producer and film editor. He was born on 23 September 1975 in Newton, Massachusetts, and studied at Boston University before pursuing a master's degree in visual ethnography at the University of Oxford.
He is best known for playing Raymond 'Ray' Ploshansky in the HBO series Girls (2012–2017), a role that earned him a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Other television credits include Homecoming (2018–2020) and Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000).
Karpovsky has appeared in films including Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Hail, Caesar! (2016) and The Front Runner (2018). He has also written and directed several independent features, such as Rubberneck (2012) and Red Flag (2012).
